Impotence is the inability of the male to achieve an erection. It is a common cause or result od anxiety and mental diharmony. It has many causes and although many cases will prove to be due to psychological factors, organic causes should be sought and treated if possible.

• Endocrine Causes : Low plasma testerone levels from any cause will result in impotence. The low testosterone may be due to hypothalamic or pituitary disease ( pituary tumour, etc), chronic liver diseases, mumps orchitis, etc.
