The Chinese medicine, everybody believes that life energy, with its components Yin and Yang, influence the whole of life and nature. Man as apart of the cosmos, is under influence from this force, which in turn influence life's executions and the functioning of the body and soul.
Body organs produce energy, which in turn is inherent to life itself. This energy is distributed through the body via the channels (meridians or pathways)
The channels are passages in the body where the vital energy 'qi' or 'chi' circulates. The acupuncture points are locations where the channels come to surface and are easily accessible to acupuncture points for needling, moxibustion, acupressure, reflexology, etc. These channels are joined together in a certain sequence so that the energy circulates and moves from one channel to another as closed and ordered systems.
Each vital organ supplies a certain share of the energy production and there is a transition from a channel to another channel, a strong or a weak organ disturbs the energetical relationship with the other. This causes reactions in the pathological symptoms.


There are 14 main channels running vertically up and down the surface of the body. Out of this, there are 12 organ channels in each half of the body (i.e. paired) and two midline (unpaired). These are connected by collaterals running horizontally and obliquely. In this network vital energy circulates in a definite time-sequence.

Organ Clock ( Midday -Midnight Law )

The twelve main channels are joined to the organ systems, each of which has a maximum activity and energy production during a period of two hours.
The time is called the maximum time meridians. Correspondingly exactly twelve hours of this high tide and low tide occurs in the energy activity. It is possible to read the sequence of the energy circulation in the channels or meridian from the organ clock.
The time factor is very important in Chinese medicine because it seems, that the sensibility in its greatest form. The maximum times have an important significance not olny for diagnostic purposes but also for therapeutic value.
For example , most of the acute asthma attack occur between 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. which is the time of optimum activity of the lung meridians.
The same time happen to the large intestine, where everybody are rushing to toilets at 5.00 am to 7.00 am. While the stomach has its maximal activity from 7.00 am to 9.00 am and the liver from 1.00 to 3.00 am.
This law may be used in diagnosis. A patient may have colicky pains which are worst at midnight. It is the period of maximal activity of the gall bladder or the period of minimal activity of the heart. It is assuming that the pain is most likely due to gall bladder problems or could possibly be the heart. This method of diagnosis, using time onset of symptoms must be very carefully observed, as any mistake in reading, might cause wrong diagnosis. To an expert acupuncturist, the law of midday and midnight are a good source to locate acupuncture points.

Zang Fu Theory

There are two categories of organs associated with the 12 organ channels: “Zang” or solid organs having assimilative and storage functions. These are the heart, lungs, spleen, liver and kidneys. “Fu” or hollow organs having secretion or eliminative functions. These are the stomach, large intestine, small intestine, urinary bladder and gall bladder. The 12 paired channels originate in these organs and are named after them. All channels originating from the Zang organs are Yin (negative) and those originating from the Fu organs are Yang (positive)

In the upper limbs there are three Yin channels starting from the chest and ending at the fingertips. They are the lung, pericardium and heart channels. And three Yang channel, the large intestine, triple warmer and small intestine, starting from the back of the fingers and ending on the face.

Three other Yang channels, the stomach, gall bladder and urinary bladder, start from the face, extend along the trunk, back and side of the leg to end at the toes. Three other Yin channels, the liver, spleen and kidney, start from the toes, run over the medial (inside) aspect of the leg and thigh and end on the chest.


Two mid-line meridians are the conception vessel meridian (Ren Mai) and the governing vessel meridian (Du Mai). The conception vessel runs from the mid-point of the perineum over the abdomen, navel and the chest and ends at the root of the tongue. The governing vessel starts from behind the anus, runs over the sacrum, spinal column, nape of the neck, passes over the head and front of the face, and ends in the mouth behind the upper lip.

The starting and end points of the meridians or channels on the fingers and toes are called Jing-well points. They are very useful pressure points in emergencies and fainting attacks since changes of energy polarity occur here.

Two more important acupressure points are GV 26 (renzhong) and K.1 ( yongquan)

Western medical science cannot explain why the pain of angina pectoris (heart pain) sometimes runs from the chest down the inner side of the left arm to the little finger, which is the path of the heart meridian of acupuncture. Similarly, since the heart and the small intestine are coupled organs, a patient having heart attack feels like passing a motion. That is why, the oriental medicine considered that the Zang-Fu theory is as an important diagnostic and therapeutic value.

LASER IN ACUPUNCTURE, How it work

Laser stands for “Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation” lasers have become a rage in the west. It was therefore not long before a laser acupuncture therapy apparatus was designed and made there. In acupuncture, the laser beam is directed at acupuncture points to bring about relief. From the patient’s point of view, it is well accepted as there is no needle penetration.

The laser used in acupuncture therapy has helium-Neon gas (Hene Laser) as the emitting source of radiation. It has an output of 25 milliwatts, a penetration depth of 5 mm and a wavelength of 6,320 Angstrom units (red part of the spectrum). The red part of the spectrum is capable of the highest level of transmission and skin penetration. The theoretical basis of laser stimulation is that acupuncture points are specific points where absorption of various forms of energies like heat, light, sound, electricity, magnetism, etc., is greater than in the surrounding area.

Stimulation in this therapy is caused solely by absorption of light through the skin. Considering that the penetration of the skin is only 5 mm as against the average depth of 1 to 1.5 cuns by needle penetration, the main use of laser therapy is in skin conditions
The laser is giving wonderful results in cosmetic conditions like acne, pimples, wrinkles, scars, etc. it can also be used in children’s diseases, especially in deafness.

The cost of acupuncture laser varies from RM 500 to RM 5,000. At the moment the German Acupuncture Laser from Sieman & Co is considered as the best.
Much work still remains to be done in charting out more and more applications of this master innovation.

Why 'Qi' is important in Chinese Medicine - Especially when you study Classical Chinese Acupuncture.

'Qi' or 'chi' is known in Malay as 'tenaga dalam' or 'tenaga batin' In Chinese Philosophy especially when studying ' Acupuncture' the balance of 'yin and yang' is important to understand. The yin and yang theory is based on the idea that all phenomena are the product of and influenced by the interaction between nature's two polar tendencies. This polarisation is reflected in our daily lives, for example, by union of man and woman; the mechanics of electricity; the merging of day and night.

Fundamental of Healing in Chinese Philosophy

In Chinese healing, the body is perceived to consist of physical and invisible body. In the invisible body, also known as the qi body, we believe there are three layers of qi bodies, namely internal qi, protective qi and external qi.
These are termed by some acupuncturist as the physical, emotional and spiritual aura fields. Any imbalance of qi flow and at any of this levels will cause sickness.

Is qi or energy scientifically proven ? There are many research on this subjects. It is noted with interest that the scientists discovered some important and interesting facts related to qi:-

In Chinese Philosophy the study of qi applies to all systems of Chinese Medicine including in study of acupuncture and moxibustion, study of Qigong, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, etc.

Dengue / Denggi

The onset of this disease is slight chill and hot with intense pain all over the body ( especially in the joints). This is the problem in young boy or man .i.e emission of semen during sleep. It is hence called 'wet dream' The act of emission is call forth by erotic dreams, but if a man becomes a chronic sufferer, not only are dreams not necessary to call forth emission, but simply sleeping on back or indigestion are quite enough to cause the discharge with or without the rection of penis.

Enuresis

Owing to partial paralysis of the muscles of urinary bladder or weak mentality or want of proper training, children may make water in bed. If not properly cured, bed wetting may continue till older days. Thera are some patient at age 25 still complaining problem of enuresis.

But in adult, urine dribble out and in them the causes chiefly are injuries due to delivery, stone, worms, gonorrhoea.

I found with 2 or 3 session of acupuncture treatment, can solve enuresis problem.

Fistula

The rectum is serurely placed in a mass fatty and cellular tissues. Owing to weakness the rectum become ulcerated, a sinus tract get unlimited field for burrowing into the tissue. Fistula, however, is often the result of a simple or tubercular abcess in the tisue surrounding the rectum. The abcess open into the bowel and also upon the skin surface and when we touch the luquid the smell were very bad just like stool.

Sometime the abcess has just appeared and is throbbing, red anus with iching around the anus.

Tingling, Pins, Needles and Numbness In Hands

The commonest cause of pins and needles and tingling in the hands is the carpal tunnel sydrome. The outstanding feature of this condition is that the numbness and tingling are worst at night either waking the patient during the night or else being very bad when the patient first get out of bed in the morning: " I have to hold my hand under hot water for 5 to 10 minutes before I can use them ," say a patient.

Although tingling or pins or needles or numbness are the usualy terms employed to describe the symptom, some people with the carpal tunnel syndrome have only pain, and others simply describe it as the fingers feeling as if they are swollen or stiff.

Tremor / Parkinson Disease

The term 'tremor' means a rhythmical shaking and this most commonly involves the arm and hands and some doctors call this as 'parkinson'

The physiological tremor is universally present and most people can see it if they hold out in a rigid posture in front of them. This universally present physiological tremor has a frequency somewhere between 8 and 12 cycles per seconds and is more pronounced in times of stress while in Parkinson a frequency of 4 to 8 cycles per seconds.

Typically it starts in one arm and spreads to the other limbs, but the arms are usually more involved than the legs, and shaking of head or lips is relatively inconspicuous early in the course of Pakinson's disease.

Viral hepatitis is infalammation of the liver caused by Virus.
